Disquiet parts with bass player

Frank van Boven will part ways with Disquiet. Below is the message the band posted on facebook.

We are extremely thankful for all his attributions to the band the past 8 years. A great bassplayer, rocking stage-animal, professional beer drinker and most important a lovely person! We wish Frank all the best in life!🤟

𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗸:

‘I am laying down my bass duties for Disquiet.

Since becoming a part of Disquiet back in 2015, we’ve played lots of great shows together, recently released an amazing record called ‘Instigate to Annihilate’ (in case you missed it) of which I am super proud of and in all these years, I had an amazing time with these guys: playing awesome music, drinking beer, and having a blast. Unfortunately, this adventure has now come to an end…

The combination of getting older, becoming a parent of two of the best kids anyone can wish for and losing a close friend (on stage) made me rethink my (personal) life and my priorities. Although there are no personal struggles, no fights, no musical disalignments, I have come to peace with the fact that I am not able to live up to the expectations and to deliver to the level that Disquiet deserves, expects, and requires.

Don’t worry, we’re not done rocking just yet! I am still very active with the Slayer tributeband Player and of course death metal band Beyond the Pale. \m/

I wish the guys from Disquiet all the best, and even though I will not be a part the band anymore, I will always support them. And drink beers together!

Raise your horns for Disquiet!

Metal greetings’ 🤟

Frank van Boven

Lord Volture reveal ‘Live ‘Em Up!’ album details and cover artwork

Here it is, the next and long overdue LORD VOLTURE release! ‘Live ’em Up!’ will be released on 12th October 2023 via Freya Records.

The new live album

Live ’em Up! was recorded at various gigs and tours in Europe during the first decade in the existence of LORD VOLTURE. To be specific, it contains tracks from our sets at SOS Festival 2014 in Manchester, UK, from Wizzfest 2016 in Lotenhulle, Belgium, and from De Verlichte Geest in Roeselare, also Belgium, recorded while we were on the Reign Of Darkness Over Europe Tour with CIRCLE II CIRCLE in 2016. The audience samples used on this album were taken from recordings and fan footage of roughly 60 different European Lord Volture shows.

Especially in the years 2012-2016 the band was on the road a lot, playing close to 200 shows across 19 different countries. Some of the highlights of that period include our European tours in support of CIRCLE II CIRCLE and TIM RIPPER OWENS, festival appearances such as SOS Festival in Manchester and Wildfire Festival in Scotland, opening for established acts like Y&T, SANCTUARY, PRIMAL FEAR and FIREWIND, and delivering the steel to remote places in countries such as Lithuania, Estonia, Slovakia, Spain and Ireland. So many adventures lie in our past and so many others are yet to come. Playing live in front of our fans was, is and ever will be one of our greatest pleasures. We believe that we were able to capture that same energy on this live record. So, set your volume to 11, and Live ‘em Up!

Tracklist:

01 Where the Enemy Sleep                      6:03

02 Minutes to Madness                             4:29

The album was recorded and produced by Bart Wyns and Yuma van Eekelen, while it was mixed and mastered by Yuma van Eekelen.

This was: Achterhoeks Metalfest

Saturday may 21st was the perfect weather for a metal festival. Those who got to go to Achterhoeks Metalfest got to enjoy some nice bands in awesome weather. Even though most people came for the headliner Napalm Death, all the other bands killed it on stage too. It was good to see the next metal generation rocking it as well <3. Richard Snijder took some pictures to give you all an impression of the vibe at the festival. See you there next time!

Onheil drops single as teaser for new album

Dutch Blackened Death Metal band ONHEIL unleashes their new song and video for “Like Shadows In The Night”. This single is the second raging track from their upcoming album “In Black Ashes” and is out on all digital platforms. The full album will be released on the 23rd of June by Swedish label BLACK LION RECORDS.

The new single is accompanied by an Animated Lyric Video based on multiple pieces of album artwork and, with the inclusion of the lyrics, gives extra attention to the harsh subject of the song.

Vocalist/Guitarist Amok says this about the lyrics: “ ‘Like Shadows In The Night’ describes the worthlessness of living beings when they are enslaved as part of modern slavery, with no escape to get freed from their suppressors. It’s about entrapment, may it literally in a cage or by the many claws of society. which often ends up in death and sorrow.
It’s great to give extra focus to these lyrics with this killer animated video. ONHEIL is a band that likes to take a bird’s eye view and hold up a mirror to humanity to show them what they really are. Yes… and sometimes the truth is ugly.”

The lyric video, single and album artwork was created by artist Lordigan Pedro Seno, who worked before with bands and artists like Amon Amarth, Kreator, Decapitated and Matt Heafy (Trivium). The animation is done by Cloud Music Typography, who has done videos before for Arch Enemy, The Haunted, Mayhem, Napalm Death, Naglfar, Dark Fortress and Archspire.  ‘In Black Ashes’ is ONHEIL’s third full-length album, which is set to be released on the 23rd of June by Swedish BLACK LION RECORDS. The album is mixed and mastered by legendary producer Dan Swanö at the Unisound Studios (Dissection, Opeth, Dark Funeral, Bloodbath, Marduk, Insomnium), vocals and drums recorded by Jonathan Merrelaar at the Red Pack Studios (Picture), and guitar recordings were assisted by Bart Hennephof (ex-Textures.) at the Creative Music Lab.
