An uncompromising manifestation of ferocity and utter discontent is probably the best way to describe the dismally melancholic sound of Teethgrinder. Hailing from the Netherlands and previously active in DrDoom and Greyline, these grinders strive for an authentic yet progressive sound, spawned by a fusion of several genres, namely; grindcore, black metal, crust and sludge. Teethgrinder honours their roots and simultaneously attempts to broaden the spectrum of grindcore itself, resulting in an unsettling maelstrom of grinding ferocity.

The critically acclaimed EP Hellbound, consisting out of four blistering songs, was released in the spring of 2014 and marked the band’s debut. While the EP was initially released on 7” vinyl, the copies sold out within months and consequently an additional CD version was pressed. In order to promote Hellbound, Teethgrinder started their crushing live devastation supporting bands like; Dillinger Escape Plan, Terrorizer, Enslaved, Anaal Natrakh and Napalm Death. Additionally they were invited by festivals such as Incubate, Into the Grave, Deathfeast and Dokk’em Open Air.

While quickly garnering infamy for their energetic, loud and aggressive live performances, the band recorded the full-length Misanthropy, within a year after the release of Hellbound. Misanthropy saw its worldwide release on the 12th of May 2015 through Lifeforce records and offers an even more diverse collection of aggressive genre-fusing songs as well as guest performances of members of Aborted and Exhumed and artwork by Marald Van Haasteren. To promote Misanthropy; Teethgrinder did an extensive tour through Europe with Tombs and Black Anvil, a UK tour, got invited to play Netherlands Deathfest, Krachtstroom, Obscene Extreme, Bloodshed festival and Fekal Party, as well as doing support slots for Behemoth, Rotten Sound, Aborted, Belphegor, Misery Index, Magrudergrind and many more.

Teethgrinder are looking forward to the next step in their progression by touring as much as possible in order to promote their second full length Nihilism, which was released on November 18th 2016 through Lifeforce Records. As the current state of our society becomes more corrupt and debased with every passing minute, Teethgrinder’s burning flames of dissent will light burn ever more brightly in the future, ensuring that this is only the beginning of a legacy of discontent.

Although they hail from the Netherlands (where they first formed in 1997, in the town Zeist), Detonation perform melodic death metal in the vein of Swedish acts like and . Featuring vocalist and guitarist Koen Romeijn, guitarist Mike Ferguson, bassist Otto Schimmelpenninck, and drummer Thomas Kalksma, the group financed both 1998’s Crushed Skull and 1999’s Lost Euphoria EPs themselves before eventually hooking up with France’s Osmose Productions for a pair of albums, 2003’s An Epic Defiance and 2005’s Portals to Uphobia. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, Rovi

Martyr is a Utrecht heavy metal band that has existed since 1982. During the existence a couple of demo cassettes were released, as well as a number of long players. The general public first became acquainted with Martyr in 1985, when the song “En Masse (Stand Or Die)” appeared on the collective album “Metal Massacre VI” of the legendary American label Metal Blade. Other greats on this record included Possessed, Hallow’s Eve, Dark Angel, The Obsessed, Hirax, Hades and Nasty Savage.

The debut album “For The Universe” from the same year is still considered a classic in heavy metal circles. For example, the leading website “Encyclopaedia Metallum: The Metal Archives” wrote the following about this album: “Martyr’s songwriting is vastly superior to most of its competitors”. In 2014 the group was honored at the “Dutch Steel (80’s Metal From The Netherlands)” collector for Martyr’s contribution to Dutch heavy metal history. E.e.a. Utrecht mayor Jan van Zanen has also noticed, he sent the group a personal letter in early 2018 to thank Martyr for their ambassadorship for the city.

The group frequently at home and abroad, as a headliner or as support act for a better-known act within the heavy metal spectrum (for example as support for ex-Iron Maiden singers Paul Di’Anno and Blaze Bayley, Trivium, Iced Earth, Manila Road, Lizzy Borden, Raven and Saxon). The absolute highlights in Martyr’s career so far have been their 3 tours in Japan, which featured delirious crowds.
